Gel Printing Setup with PrusaSlicer
Overview
This procedure describes how to set up and configure PrusaSlicer for gel printing with the syringe tool on the Jubilee machine.
Prerequisites
- PrusaSlicer installed
- Jubilee_Prusa_config.ini configuration bundle
- 3D model in .stl format
- Pluronic F127 hydrogel (25 wt%)
- Appropriate syringe tip (18 gauge recommended)
Configuration Steps
Import Jubilee Configuration:
- Open PrusaSlicer
- Go to
File > Import > Import Config ... - Select
Jubilee_Prusa_config.ini
Load Your Model:
- Click 'Add' button
- Select your .stl file
- Adjust orientation and scale as needed
Printing Parameters
Nozzle Settings
- Default: 18 gauge nozzle (green)
- Can be changed under
Printer Settings - Reference needle sizes from Hamilton Needle Gauge Chart
Speed Settings
- Default: 10 mm/s for F127
- Adjust based on nozzle size and material viscosity
- Located under

Layer Settings
- Layer height and first layer height should scale with nozzle size
- Located under
Print Settings
Extruder Assignment
- The config includes four syringe extruders
- Tool numbers in PrusaSlicer start at 1, while Jubilee starts at 0
- Example: Extruder 3 in PrusaSlicer = Tool 2 on Jubilee
- Configure under
Print Settings > Multiple Extruders
Slicing and Export
- Click
Slice nowto generate preview - Review tool paths and infill patterns
- Click
Export G-codeto generate GCode file
Printing
- Upload GCode to Duet Web Control (DWC):
- Click
UPLOAD & STARTin DWC interface - Monitor print progress
- Use DWC controls to pause/stop if needed
- Click
Important Notes
- Always calibrate Z-offset before printing
- Use glass plate for gel printing
- Monitor print quality and adjust parameters as needed
- Keep F127 at appropriate temperature for printing
- Clean syringe and nozzle after use
